Reuben is the fourth born child in a family of six children. His parents are subsistence farmers and have managed get their children through primary school but are now they are struggling with the high costs of secondary education.
Up to the end of last year Reuben’s parents had just about managed to pay for the two oldest boy’s school fees by selling any excess produce and borrowing the rest. The oldest boy has now completed school. However school fees have doubled in the last couple of years and without help it is doubtful whether Reuben will be able to follow his older brother.Reuben’s younger sister, Racheal has been sponsored through Project Luangwa for the past year.
As we have supported his sister Reuben decided to appeal to us and see if we could help.He is a lovely boy and very like his sister in looks. Also like his sister he is quiet and well mannered. In spite of having to travel many kilometres to and from school each day he has been getting exceptionally good results in his end of term exams throughout 2018.He would greatly benefit from a bicycle for travelling to school and we have added this as an optional extra if the sponsor’s funds allow. He wants to have the chance to train as a secondary school teacher if he manages to complete school.
