Nelson Mandela once said, 'it always impossible until it is done.'
In small rural school in Mfuwe, a young girl named Winnerty has done the impossible; she got a distinction in computer studies. This is terrific news because schools like Chiutika where she is from rarely have any working computers- and children usually just have to learn about them through theory. Learning that someone- and not just any one but a girl was able to get high marks in computers without probably every touching one made us choose Winnerty for our sponsorship program. Such determination does not go unnoticed.
We also believe that in the just ended exams, she was the highest student at her school and she was accepted into a local day school but we believe she belongs in boarding school where pressures that affect most girls her age will not affect her.
Winnerty deserves to be in a school where we can also keep an eye out for her and provide her with constant role models. We want her to be at Mfuwe Day Secondary school where she can join a girls club and have people around her who will help her dream and soar with possibilities. Girls in the valley are more vulnerable than boys, and they have lower pass rates than boys their age, and when someone like Winnerty with a passion for school walks in through our doors, we try to introduce her to people who we believe will add positivity to her journey and help her succeed beyond expectations.
When she is done with school, Winnerty wants to be a nurse so she can help people and also provide her faily with some much needed financial relief. All this is very commendable, and this is why we believe that with your help, Winnerty will go far with her education.
impossible until its done, and Winnerty’s school results prove she is one took out for!
