A chance meeting during an Edulution tour led us to this incredible young boy. Edulution is a mathematics program that makes learning fun and easier that Project Luangwa sponsors in schools through the generosity of our partners. Children learn by using tablets and a tutor is assigned to them, who helps them grasp basic concepts.
We met Andrew during an Edulution visit and we were blown away by how well he was practising his integers! He did so well, and also demonstrated to us how to easily calculate positive and negative numbers. Andrew loves mathematics, and during that meeting, we guaranteed him a place on our sponsorship program on condition that he passes his primary school leaving exams. Stu- our sponsorship manager left her number with Andrew, who then ran home and asked his mother to keep the piece of paper in a safe place.
We received a call from Andrew in December telling us that he had passed his grade 7 exams, and that he was ready for the eighth grade. He came to our offices for interviews, and he was successful.
We need help sponsoring Andrew to secondary school. His mother Margret just sells a sweet dough bread in their village, which she makes on her own.
Andrew is a fast learner, and we would be thrilled to have him in our program, because he is a hard worker and one of the most humble children we have met in a long time.
